Biogas Equipment Installation in Dzegvi City

In November 2000, the Cottonwood Foundation (White Bear Lake, USA) provided Green Alternative with a grant for the project entitled "Biogas Equipment Installation in City Dzegvi ". Biogas equipment was installed in one of the buildings of Dzegvi's homeless children housing complex.

In implementing this project, Green Alternative, together with experts, conducted a technical assessment of all buildings in the community in order to identify the possibility of installing various sources of renewable energy. This assessment will facilitate the process of finding sources for the implementation of such projects.

The Dzegvi community was glad to have the new equipment, as they found it easy to use. The Biogas equipment provides access to an independent and cheap energy source, which can help to overcome the problem of energy supply in rural areas of Georgia.
